Go to the Nintendo DS ROM directory after opening MelonDS and choosing Set ROM Directory. I need to find out where ROMS are for obvious legal reasons. However, Reddit and the ROMS subreddit might be a decent place to start.

Allow it to scan your library of Nintendo DS games; if you have a lot, it may take some time.

To change the location of your saves if you don't want them in the same folder as your ROMS, click the three dots in the upper right corner, select Settings, and then select Save Files. For States, too.

I modify mine by creating a MelonDS folder on my internal drive.

To remove on-screen controls, back out, go to Input, and turn off Show Soft Input.

Next, choose key mapping and align the buttons on your controller with those on a Nintendo DS. I switch screens as L2 and fast-forward to R2.

If you'd like, you can activate Retro Achievements by going back.

To access the MelonDS in-game menu, launch any game from the main screen and use the back button on Android or your device, if it has one.

Load State, Save State, and more options are available.
