Android Nintendo Switch Emulation Setup Guide with Yuzu
Android Nintendo Switch Emulation Setup Guide with Yuzu
What is Yuzu?
You may play your legally backed-up Nintendo Switch games on Android by following my instructions on installing and setting up the Yuzu emulator for Android.
You may leave now, Nintendo ninjas; I won't teach you how to obtain firmware files, ROMs, or anything else that would land me in hot water.
Which Yuzu to download?
I cannot deliver this due to current circumstances (Yuzu being shut down).
Installing Yuzu
Click Get Started after launching the app.
Please give your consent for whatever it requests.
We now reach the first item, prod. I need help demonstrating how to obtain the keys. The legal method is to use mine, which was discarded from my real Nintendo Switch. Search for prod. Keys on Google to learn more. When you have your prod keys file, locate it and choose it.
The next step is to inform Yuzu where our Nintendo Switch ROMs are. To access the folder containing your legally backed-up Nintendo Switch ROMs, click Add Games. The ones I'm using were taken straight from my Nintendo Switch.
Create a Switch ROMs folder and a DLC, and update the subfolder for the organization. The base games will be in one subdirectory, followed by all updates and DLC. In a moment, you will discover why.
Click Continue to finish this section.
Yuzu Settings
Your games are now displayed in a grid here, but we should review a few options.
On the upper left, click the Settings cog. Next, select Advanced Settings. Next, select System.
If your device has adequate power, you can activate Docked Mode here to improve your resolution. However, it would help if you remained in handheld mode for most gadgets and games. Leave this in handheld mode and adjust the settings for each game you wish to utilize docked mode, as I'll demonstrate later.
Return and enter Graphics. Once more, if your device is powerful enough, you can change the resolution here to something higher, particularly if you send it to a TV or another display with a higher resolution. The same advice applies here: leave it at default and make any changes later, per game.
There are a couple of possibilities here. As shown above, many games will require setting adjustments and won't function with the default settings because Yuzu is still in the early access stage and is still being developed. Reactive flushing or asynchronous shaders may occasionally need to be enabled. Try these if a game doesn't work for you, but you can also leave them off by default.
Go back to the main settings panel and back again. Navigate to Controls, where you can map your controller to your preferences or add more players if you have any Bluetooth controllers attached.
In most cases, your controls should be identified and mapped automatically, but it's always a good idea to come here and map it yourself.
GPU Driver Manager
Return and navigate to the GPU driver manager. If you want things to work, you can skip this because it will require some technical know-how again. Custom GPU drivers are available here for anyone else who desires optimal performance.

Return and navigate to the GPU driver manager. You can skip this if you just want things to work because it will require some technical know-how once again. Custom GPU drivers are available here for anyone else who desires optimal performance.
To complicate matters further, you might need multiple GPU drivers to achieve optimal performance because not all games work well with the latest one.
Importing/Exporting Yuzu data & Save data
After backing out once more, go to Manage Yuzu Data. You can accomplish a couple of different things here. In addition to installing firmware, DLC, and game updates, you may import or export your Yuzu data and saved files. You cannot use cloud syncing for saves since Yuzu's saved data is concealed beneath Android's storage.
Installing game updates and DLC
I plan to install DLC and game updates for my current games next. I'll go to the folder containing all of my DLC and updates, choose them all, and Yuzu will install them all for me. Please return in a little while, as it will require some time.
The next step is firmware installation, which is essential for all users. Here, you must install the switch firmware. Once more, I will use my lawfully backed-up firmware. Locate and install your zip file.
I don't know what Amiibo keys do, and I haven't had any cause to use them, but anyone who wants to utilize real or fake Amiibo can research it further.
Remove on-screen controls
Go back to the main game interface and select a game to load. You will immediately see that you have on-screen controls, which differs from what we want if you use a controller or handheld device.
You can swipe and click the back button from the navigation bar or press it if your device has one. To turn off the show overlay, navigate the overlay choices in the in-game menu. You may also turn off the FPS counter.
Per-game Settings
Using that menu, You can return to the main screen after leaving the game. Because each game requires changing settings frequently, Yuzu's ability to create per-game settings is essential. For example, you might need reactive flushing on one game, but not the other, or you might prefer docked mode for one and portable for the other. Pushing and holding on to a game is how you get to this. A new menu will appear, and if you go to the upper right, you may see parameters which allow you to modify per-game parameters. Any modifications made here will only impact this particular game.
Mods
However, you can quickly add updates, DLC, or even mods and cheats if you select Addons on the right and then add. Another great feature is the per-game settings option, which allows you to do things on the fly when you load the game and return to the in-game menu.
Let's examine how to install a mod. Since the game is broken with a blur across the screen without the mod, I will utilize The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
A mod can fix that. I will use gamebanana.com, which has the necessary mods in its mods area. The download link for the zip file will appear if you scroll down on the page. I'm using Solid File Explorer, the file manager I always suggest to extract it.
Enter the folder and change the title ID—that is, the folder that contains the titles—to No DOF in this instance. Although each mod is unique, this one requires No DOF, as shown below.
Next, use the Addons page to install the mod, being sure to choose the No DOF folder that contains the romfs folder. If you did it correctly, this is how it will appear. After making sure it is selected, open the game to enable it.
We're done with the blur for Link's Awakening.
Cheats
For mods, that's fantastic, but what about cheats? Well, the concept is the same. For cheats, I prefer to use gbatemp.net. To find the correct website, simply Google the game name plus cheats, then add gbatemp at the end. For this example, let's use Pokemon Scarlet.
First, we must determine which version of the game we are using, particularly if you have installed any updates. Press and hold Pokemon Scarlet in Yuzu, then choose Info from the upper left menu.
I'm using Version 3.0.0 in this situation.
I want to scroll to that version of the Pokemon Scarlet Cheats gbatemp page, and we'll notice that the filename should be C01884F294C053C4.txt.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to download the attachment, which is called ScVi.zip in this instance.
Go ahead and extract it using Solid File Explorer. Remove all but the one corresponding to your version's filename from the Cheats folder.
I want Force Shiny On here so you can edit the file and select the cheat you want to use. After removing all other cheats, only the Force Shiny On part remains. You can also use any other kind of cheat you like.
The title ID folder should be renamed Force Shiny On. or any other cheat you choose.
Return to Yuzu, click Addons, and install the cheat by choosing the Force Shiny On folder, just like we did with the mod. Launch the game and engage in combat to find out if it worked.
And it was successful! To add any cheats, follow these procedures.
That concludes the comprehensive setup tutorial for Yuzu for Android.
